Albert S. Cook Library Digital Collections

About this collection

During World War II a number of alumni of the State Teachers College at Towson maintained correspondence with college representatives. These alumni sent items such as letters, postcards, and Christmas cards while going through military training or stationed overseas. The items in this digital collection consist of these photographs, correspondence, newspaper articles, surveys, Christmas cards, and other objects sent from enlisted alumni to the State Teachers College at Towson. Some items were previously mounted in a scrapbook created by the students and then removed.

This digital collection is a product of a collaborative project between the staff of the Towson University Special Collections and Archives Department and students from the Friends School of Baltimore. Special Collections digitized the materials and made them available, while the students created transcripts of the objects and established basic descriptive information.
